I saw a post recently on Instagram that posed that simple question, leading to a more complex mathematical equation to make a point not at all about math.
“Who are you?
What do you want?
How to design your life?”

These are perhaps ever-changing complexities that I think most, if not all of us have in our internal world that we either ignore or try to wing solo on a daily basis, reacting to the outside world and, in most cases it seems, forgetting about our inside world.
But..
You don’t see the world as it is,
You see it as you are.

The post points out that “we try to solve the hardest questions of our life in the same head that struggles to divide six-digit numbers” that we would need to use a paper and pen for, and advocates for the process of writing to be able to think clearly. To process these complexities, to find clarity on self.

“Writing isn’t something you do to look aesthetic with your journal in a café”
Or maybe it is, and I won’t judge, I’d probably admire it without knowing your intentions, but..
What’s the point of that performance to you?

“Writing is a way to organise your brain, one thought at a time.” I feel, giving us the mental clarity to move through our life in communication with ourselves.
To be aligned with our highest intuition, our truest self.
And this isn’t the be-all and end-all of everything; it’s a slice that, when paired with other practices, becomes a whole pie, or pizza or whatever your preference is.
I’m finding it increasingly useful to allow myself to process myself through the practice of writing, and I think it helps lead to our evolution of self.
Our evolution alone is another topic I have some thoughts on with regards to our misdirection on that in today’s world, but I’ll save that for another time.

If you’re feeling anything lately, write about it, see what comes out of it, and maybe you’ll find that the complex math of your self was easier to understand with a paper and pen.
